Analytics Engineer

Zafin, a company providing an integrated platform for banks, is seeking an Analytics Engineer to join their team in Chennai or Trivandrum, India. This role sits at the intersection of banking and analytics, requiring a deep understanding of both domains.

The Analytics Engineer will collaborate with Business SMEs to define metrics, develop data models, and design data visualizations using BI tools. They will also work with the Data Engineering team to automate metric calculations and mentor Data Analysts.

What this role involves:

• Collaborating with Business SMEs to identify and define relevant metrics for financial services.
• Developing complex data models to integrate and aggregate data.
• Designing and implementing data visualizations and reports based on user needs.
• Working closely with the Data Engineering team to automate the calculation of metrics.
• Coaching and mentoring Data Analysts on data visualization best practices.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science/Engineering, Information Technology, or related field.
• Ability to understand complex business objectives and decompose them into metrics.
• Ability to collaborate with Business SMEs to understand the business context and reporting requirements.
• Knowledge of writing efficient SQL scripts.
• Strong understanding of data modelling techniques.
• Software Engineering mind-set.
• Proficiency in modern BI-tools and Dataviz.
• Proficiency in Python for data analysis.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Excellent interpersonal skills.
• Detail oriented with a strong ability to prioritize conflicting deadlines.
• Proactive and has a strong desire to learn.
