Staff Software Engineer -Security and Privacy

Job Description

Verkada is seeking a Staff Software Engineer to join its Security Team. This role involves building frameworks, tools, and platform services for security and privacy controls. The engineer will develop distributed systems, apply cryptography skills, and launch new services to protect customer and personal data. The role requires collaboration with various engineering teams, focusing on security and privacy.Verkada is rapidly expanding with offices across three continents and serves numerous customers globally.Responsibilities:

• Develop security and privacy infrastructure.
• Architect systems for managing data volumes.
• Mentor junior engineers.
• Enhance product security.
• Collaborate with engineering leaders.
• Expand security and privacy programs.
• Share security expertise.
• Work on end-to-end and data encryption.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor of Science in Computer Science or equivalent.
• 8+ years of experience as a software or security engineer.
• Demonstrable coding skills.
• Experience with AWS, GCP, or other cloud service provider.
• Enthusiasm for learning about new security & privacy products.
• Excellent collaborative skills.
• Outstanding written and verbal communication.
