Research Engineer / Research Scientist, Multimodal

Job Description

Anthropic is seeking a Research Engineer or Research Scientist to join their Multimodal team in London. The team focuses on building and studying multimodal models to understand and mitigate the risks associated with powerful AI. Anthropic's mission is to create reliable, interpretable, and steerable AI systems that are safe and beneficial for users and society.Role involves:

• Developing new architectures for modeling multimodal data.
• Building infrastructure for complex multimodal reinforcement learning environments.
• Developing high-performance RPC servers for processing image inputs.
• Creating sandboxing infrastructure for secure data collection.
• Developing tooling to collect, process, and clean multimodal data at scale.

Requirements:

• Significant software engineering experience.
• Results-oriented with a bias towards flexibility and impact.
• Ability to pick up slack outside of the job description.
• Enjoy pair programming.
• Interest in learning more about machine learning research.
• Care about the societal impacts of the work.
• Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience.
