Job Description
Lightspeed is seeking a Principal Director of Internal Audit to join their finance team. This role involves supporting best practices within the financial division and leading internal audits. The Principal Director will contribute to the growth of the internal audit team by executing audit engagements, performing risk assessments, drafting audit reports, and verifying the effective implementation of management action plans. Additionally, they may participate in ad-hoc compliance projects aimed at enhancing the internal audit function.Responsibilities include:
- Developing, leading, and overseeing the execution of the risk-based annual internal audit plan.
- Directing and reviewing the preparation of comprehensive audit reports.
- Collaborating with senior management to discuss audit findings and agree on remediation plans.
- Providing strategic oversight and promoting the optimization of the internal audit system.
- Leading and managing ad-hoc special projects, investigations, and strategic initiatives.
- Developing and mentoring internal audit staff, fostering a high-performance team culture.
- Contributing to the continuous improvement of internal audit methodologies and processes.
- Staying informed of emerging risks, industry trends, and regulatory changes.
Requirements:
- CPA, CIA, or equivalent professional designation required.
- 7-10+ years of progressive experience in internal audit, external audit, or related risk management/compliance.
- Strong knowledge of IFRS standards, the COSO framework, and internal audit standards.
- Experience leading complex audit engagements and performing risk assessments.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and experience with audit management software.
- Excellent written and spoken English, with strong presentation and communication skills.
- Proven ability to lead, motivate, and develop a team.
