Job Description
The company, Altos Labs, is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Scientist to join their In Vitro Pharmacology team. This role is based within the Institute of Medicine (IOM) and focuses on protein science and assay development. The Senior Scientist will be at the forefront of cutting-edge research, working alongside leading research labs and industry scientists to understand and harness the cellular mechanisms of aging and cellular rejuvenation. Role involves:
  • Conceiving, developing, and optimizing biophysical, biochemical, and cell-based assays.
  • Developing assay platforms for screening and mechanistic characterization.
  • Applying protein engineering principles to inform construct design.
  • Managing recombinant protein expression and purification.
  • Designing and executing cell-based assays.
  • Leading in vitro pharmacology efforts.
  • Collaborating with Institute of Science (IOS) and Institute of Computation (IoC) labs.
  • Driving data analysis and interpretation.

Requirements:
  • Ph.D. in Biochemistry, Biophysics, Pharmacology, Structural Biology, or a related field.
  • At least 6 years of relevant industry and/or postdoctoral experience.
  • Deep expertise in protein science, including protein–protein interaction characterization and engineering.
  • Extensive experience designing and executing biochemical and biophysical assays.
  • Experience with cell-based assay development.
  • Familiarity with high-throughput screening (HTS) platforms is a plus.
  • Strong conceptual grounding in mechanism-of-action studies and pharmacological characterization.
  • Strong collaboration and communication skills.
