Lightspeed is seeking a Senior Collections Specialist to join their Finance team in Montreal. This role involves customer interaction and focuses on managing overdue account balances. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills, familiarity with accounting practices, and the ability to remain composed and authoritative in customer interactions.
Responsibilities:
Lead and manage a portfolio of complex or high-value delinquent customer accounts.
Analyze aging reports and identify risk patterns.
Act as the main point of contact for escalated collection cases.
Manage third-party collection referrals for accounts undergoing bankruptcy.
Resolve customer billing inquiries, explaining invoicing structures and payment terms.
Collaborate with internal teams to ensure correct application of contractual terms.
Oversee daily cash application processes.
Investigate and resolve complex account discrepancies.
Review and reconcile customer accounts.
Requirements:
2+ years of collections experience.
Solid understanding of accounts receivable and basic accounting principles.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Ability to explain billing adjustments and invoicing discrepancies.
Experience serving as an escalation point.
Experience working with billing platforms or ERP systems (e.g., NetSuite, Salesforce, Chargify) is a strong asset.
