Farmers Business Network (FBN) is seeking an Operations Manager to oversee warehousing operations in Brandon, Manitoba. The Operations Manager will be responsible for facilities management, safety, shipping, storing, and distribution of goods. The ideal candidate will be hands-on and able to effectively motivate, engage, coach, develop, and lead the team while driving productivity and growth.
Responsibilities: - Hire, train, lead, motivate, mentor and coach the warehouse team.
- Ensure timely processing of customer orders through adequate staffing and training.
- Manage facility, including vendors for warehouse supplies, maintenance and material handling equipment.
- Create a safe environment through inspections, maintenance, training, and adherence to regulations.
- Document inspections and maintenance on equipment.
- Act as subject matter expert for the warehouse management system.
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships with colleagues, customers, vendors, suppliers & visitors.
- Adhere to legal and safety procedures.
- Create and update a Warehouse Operations Manual.
- Act as primary backup to the Inventory Manager position.
- Assist FBN fleet management team with scheduling and coordinating fleet service.
Requirements: - 5 to 7 years of experience in product distribution.
- Process-driven and uses data to improve operations.
- Experience managing warehouse operations and personnel.
- Knowledge of safety and legal documentation processes.
- Ability to acquire a Manitoba Pesticide Dispenser certificate.
- Excellent leadership and administration skills.
- Ability to manage time, resolve crises, and make decisions.
- Ability to coordinate with internal and external workers.
- Ability to work multiple shifts and weekend shifts during peak season.
