Senior Software Engineer - Omnichannel, Cloud and Infrastructure

Job Description

Dialpad is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join their team in Buenos Aires, Argentina. This role involves leading complex projects, mentoring engineers, and driving the architectural direction of Dialpad's platform. The Senior Engineer will collaborate with product managers, DevOps, and other engineering leaders to ensure reliability, performance, and scalability across systems.Responsibilities include:

• Designing and implementing highly scalable, reliable, and secure backend services and APIs.
• Driving architectural decisions and long-term technical strategy for cloud-native backend systems.
• Collaborating across teams to define service boundaries, data models, and integration patterns.
• Leading the management and optimization of systems in cloud environments (AWS, GCP, Azure).
• Setting best practices for code quality, testing, monitoring, and deployment.
• Mentoring and coaching engineers, helping to elevate the technical bar across the organization.
• Proactively identifying and resolving performance bottlenecks, scalability issues, and technical debt.
• Evaluating and introducing new technologies and tools to improve system performance and developer productivity.

Requirements:

• 8+ years of backend engineering experience, with 2+ years in a lead-level role.
• Strong proficiency in modern backend languages (e.g., Java, Python).
• Deep experience with cloud infrastructure (AWS and GCP) and cloud-native design patterns.
• Proven track record in designing and building distributed systems at scale.
• Solid understanding of containerization and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Familiarity with infrastructure-as-code (Terraform, CloudFormation, etc.).
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines, observability tools, and monitoring systems.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
• Familiarity with event-driven architectures (Kafka, Pub/Sub).
• Exposure to serverless computing and microservices best practices.
