Senior Site Reliability Engineer

Job Description

Sony Interactive Entertainment is seeking a Senior Site Reliability Engineer to join their operations SRE team within the platform technology group. In this role, the candidate will be responsible for maintaining the availability, resilience, and impact of key user experiences on the PlayStation platform. The SRE will enable service teams to deliver new products and features.

The candidate will drive technical initiatives and identify improvements in processes and technology, supporting millions of users. The ideal candidate will have a mindset where security is adopted on various levels of application and infrastructure lifecycle.

Role Involves:

• Keeping key user experiences on the platform available, resilient, and impactful.
• Enabling service teams to deliver new and exciting products and technical features.
• Driving and leading technical initiatives.
• Identifying and proactively driving improvements in both process and technology.

Requirements:

• More than 5 years of experience with Cloud Technologies preferably with AWS.
• Experience with Container orchestration, building and managing platform with Kubernetes in production, supporting production workload.
• Desire for Infrastructure as Code with CloudFormation and or Terraform.
• Hands-on working experience with containerization and orchestration technology like Kubernetes.
• Expert level experience on service mesh design and implementation including Istio service mesh.
• Expert level knowledge and hands on implementation experience with Kubernetes, specifically with EKS.
• Good experience with large scale microservice architecture and also moving monolith to microservices.
• Extensive working experience with Serverless Technology like AWS lambda.
• Everyday working experience and desire for CI/CD with one of Jenkins, ArgoCD, Github Actions.
• Proficient with one of scripting language including Go, Python and or Shell.
• High desire to use Config Management with one of Ansible, Puppet, Chef, Salt etc.
• Strong understanding of Linux, kernel and networking protocol.
• Understanding of networking basics and cloud networking concepts.
• Experience with On Call Rotation and supported production environments.
• Very good at troubleshooting on various levels including Application, Database, Linux, Container, Networking, Storage, Access Control.
