Senior Gameplay Animator (Contract)

Job Description

Insomniac Games is seeking a Senior Gameplay Animator to join their award-winning Animation team. This role involves collaborating with Designers and Gameplay Programmers to create innovative traversal, combat, hero, and boss gameplay experiences. The Senior Gameplay Animator will develop high-quality animations for gameplay characters and cinematics, ensuring alignment with artistic direction and technical standards. Role involves:

• Developing high-quality animations for gameplay characters and cinematics.
• Collaborating with Designers and Programmers to implement animations in engine.
• Troubleshooting and resolving issues independently.
• Working with the Animation team to guarantee cohesive execution of the established animation direction.
• Communicating effectively with other disciplines to resolve issues and achieve project goals.
• Writing and maintaining JIRA tasks.
• Collaborating with Leads and Project Managers on prioritizing the backlog.
• Supporting independent and embedded Co-Dev resources.
• Guiding, tutoring, and aiding others based on established workflows.
• Maintaining comprehensive documentation of animation processes and techniques.
• Exploring and establishing new techniques to improve efficiency.
• Staying updated with industry trends and technologies.

Requirements:

• Advanced knowledge of Maya.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
• Knowledge of common state machine flow in any game engine a plus.
