Job Description
Wayve is seeking an Engineering Manager for the Inference & Accelerators team within the Robot Software division. This role involves leading a team of engineers to deliver a reliable software stack for on-road experimentation, enabling rapid iteration and data gathering for autonomous driving improvements. The Inference & Accelerators team is central to Wayve’s AI technology, abstracting hardware and software complexities for AI engineers.
Responsibilities: - Own software layers interfacing with inference and IPC systems.
- Develop abstraction and data movement frameworks for dynamically configured AI inference.
- Create software enabling new inference hardware types.
- Lead a high-performing team, providing technical direction and setting clear objectives.
- Own the technical roadmap, aligning with stakeholders on priorities and timelines.
- Empower the team to operate autonomously, providing necessary resources and support.
- Guide the team to develop fault-tolerant software with comprehensive diagnostic tools.
- Communicate with leadership and stakeholders to manage expectations and remove roadblocks.
- Support team member development through guidance, mentorship, and feedback.
Requirements: - Linux Cpp/Rust application development experience.
- Experience with data serialization and IPC/RPC frameworks on Linux (or similar) systems.
- Proven leadership and management experience in a software development team, preferably working with complex and/or embedded systems
- Strong hand-on development experience in a high performance programming language such as C++ or Rust
- Demonstrated ability to build, manage and grow high-performing teams, owning the recruitment process and supporting career development
- Excellent communication skills and a track record of effective collaboration across teams and functions
- Strategic acumen and the ability to distill company objectives and customer requirements into a vision and technical roadmap for your team’s internal product
- A degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience
