Job Description
Wayve is seeking an Engineering Manager for the Sensor Systems Software team. This role involves leading a team of engineers to deliver a reliable software stack for on-road experimentation, enabling model developers and scientists to improve autonomous driving capabilities. The Sensors Systems Software team integrates new sensors into Wayve's development and validation fleet, including driver development, configuration, diagnostics, and data streaming. The role ensures Wayve’s operating systems, sensor integration, and hardware/software interfaces remain robust and future-proof.
Role involves:
- Enabling streaming of all sensor data into the robot software Pub/Sub system.
- Owning software support for Wayve designed sensor ingest hardware.
- Investigating and resolving sensor related issues on vehicles.
- Leading a high performing team of software engineers.
- Owning the technical roadmap for the team.
- Empowering the team to operate autonomously.
- Guiding the team to develop fault-tolerant software solutions.
- Communicating with leadership and stakeholders.
- Supporting the development of team members.
Requirements:
- Experience with automotive sensors and technologies.
- Leadership and management experience in a software development team.
- Strong development experience in C++ or Rust.
- Ability to build and manage high-performing teams.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Strategic acumen.
- A degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
