Manager, Engineering

Job Description

HealthJoy is seeking a talented and compassionate Engineering Manager to lead a cross-functional team and enhance their SaaS solution. The Engineering Manager will play a key role in scaling highly distributed systems and continuously improving engineering practices. This role offers the opportunity to work with the latest software practices and technologies, such as microservices architecture, cloud design patterns, automated CI/CD pipeline, Kubernetes, and AWS.Responsibilities include:

• Leading a team of software and QA engineers
• Guiding engineers through planning, designing, coding, delivery, and support
• Improving product delivery and application lifecycle
• Collaborating with product management and design
• Managing metrics for product delivery and developer performance
• Recruiting, growing, and retaining engineering talent
• Coaching individual contributors and technical leads
• Serving as a conduit between the team and business stakeholders
• Championing HealthJoy values within the team

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience
• 8+ years of software development experience
• 3+ years of managing software development teams
• Hands-on leadership experience in software design, code, build, test, deploy, and support
• 5+ years of hands-on development experience utilizing Python
• 5+ years of experience with relational database design, development, and optimization
• Working knowledge of Kubernetes (a plus)
• Working knowledge of AWS infrastructure (a plus)
• Experience mentoring engineers to build scalable, resilient, consumer-facing mobile and web distributed solutions
• Experience leading engineers through technical impediments and production support
• Experience in US healthcare (a plus)
• Experience with AI development tools (a plus)
