Senior Machine Learning Engineer

Job Description

Archipelago is seeking a Senior Machine Learning Engineer to join its growing labs team, focusing on Gen AI systems. The ideal candidate will be comfortable with full-stack development and eager to work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

Archipelago is redefining commercial property insurance with its AI-powered data network, connecting brokers, owners, and insurers to improve data accuracy and risk management.

Role Involves:

• Designing and developing machine learning and deep learning systems
• Building RAG pipelines with LLMs
• Building Agentic AI applications
• Designing and implementing tracking and evaluation tools to assess model performance and data accuracy
• Implementing appropriate ML algorithms
• Orchestration of long running jobs for data extraction
• Building UIs to test & evaluate results of ML experiments
• Shipping code to production frequently
• Coaching and mentoring more junior engineers

Requirements:

• 3+ years of experience as a Machine Learning Engineer or similar role
• Familiarity with modern NLP techniques (LLMs, prompt engineering, RAG frameworks, AI Agents)
• Fluent in Python and SQL
• Knowledge of how to deploy, monitor, and maintain ML services in a production environment (AWS, CI/CD, Datadog, Snowflake)
• Experience in designing and deploying feature engineering pipelines in production
