Database Administrator

Job Description

Spektrum is seeking a Database Administrator to support the NATO Communication and Information Agency (NCIA) in Braine l'Alleud, Belgium. The NCIA provides secure and effective communications and IT services to NATO member countries and partners. The Database Administrator will play a crucial role in maintaining and optimizing database systems to ensure the security and effectiveness of NATO's communication and information technology capabilities.Role involves:

• Supporting database migrations from on-prem to cloud environments.
• Maintaining advanced DB architectures on high availability and disaster recovery database environments.
• Developing and configuring tools to enable automation of database administration tasks.
• Developing dynamic reports for database management systems.
• Performing routine installation, re-configuration, backups of database and related products on on-premises and cloud environments.

Requirements:

• Proficiency in cloud database solutions such as Azure SQL Database and automation.
• Expertise in database administration, cloud database management and on-prem, and security best practices.
• Experience in database migrations from on-prem to cloud.
• Experience with backup and recovery strategies, automation with PowerShell, and CI/CD integration.
• Extensive experience of Microsoft SQL Server on ON-Prem and Cloud Environments.
• Good understanding of advanced architectures on High Availability and Disaster Recovery solutions.
• Knowledge of Microsoft reporting technologies (PowerBI, SSRS, SSIS), Grafana reporting and Automation technologies (Ansible).
• Valid National or NATO Secret personal security clearance.
