Job Description
LA28 is seeking a Senior Manager, Mapping & Spatial Solutions to lead the spatial data strategy and mapping operations for the LA28 Olympic & Paralympic Transportation Team. This role involves geospatial planning, data integration, and visualization to support venue access, traffic management, emergency response, and stakeholder coordination. The Senior Manager will collaborate with internal teams and external partners to ensure key milestones are met.

Responsibilities:
  • Lead the development and implementation of an ArcGIS-based mapping and spatial solutions system.
  • Manage the creation and maintenance of geospatial data sets for venues, transportation hubs, routes, and critical infrastructure.
  • Oversee map production and scenario modeling for athlete movements, public transit, road closures, parking, and pedestrian flows.
  • Coordinate GIS data sharing and alignment with internal & external partners.
  • Direct the development of web-based interactive maps and dashboards.
  • Supervise GIS analysts and partners.
  • Establish metadata standards, build data governance protocols, and define system integrations.
  • Provide spatial analysis and visualization support for planning workshops and stakeholder briefings.
  • Prepare meeting materials and presentation decks.
  • Participate in meetings with public agency partners.
  • Assist in providing progress reports to LA28 leadership and the IOC/IPC.
  • Conduct field reviews and participate in site testing and evaluations.

Requirements:
  • Strong knowledge of transportation planning and operations.
  • Direct experience managing transportation operations and/or special event traffic management systems using geospatial tools.
  • Strong business acumen with strategic thinking and project management skills.
  • Ability to prioritize and plan multi-stakeholder initiatives.
  • Ability to create effective relationships and collaborate at all organizational levels.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to gather and assess data and produce technical reports.
  • Proficiency in ArcGIS, Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Bachelor’s degree in transportation planning, urban planning, or related field.
  • 9+ years of relevant experience in transportation planning, design, construction, operations, and/or maintenance.
  • Direct experience in geospatial mapping, data analysis, and data management using ArcGIS.

What LA28 offers:
  • The annual base salary range for this position is $115,000-130,000.00.
