Job Description

Betsson Group is seeking an Engineering Manager to lead their Data Engineering team in Malta. The Engineering Manager will be responsible for building and leading high-performing engineering teams, focusing on people management, planning, and ensuring process adherence. They will collaborate with product and design teams on roadmaps, drive engineering excellence, and maintain product stability and performance.

• Building and leading high-performing engineering teams.
• Ensuring proper team structure and staffing.
• Driving engineer recruitment, onboarding, and development.
• Fostering a culture of ownership and collaboration.
• Collaborating with cross-functional leadership.
• Ensuring timely and quality delivery of engineering teams.
• Supporting product activities.
• Defining and monitoring team performance metrics.
• Optimizing team and development processes.
• Taking ownership of team performance and issue resolution.
• Advocating for agile development practices.
• Ensuring awareness of strategies, standards, and business goals.
• Driving ownership of system health, performance, and stability.
• Championing technical initiatives.
• Ensuring effective support and maintenance processes.
• Monitoring and following SLAs.

Requirements:

• Experience in working with Data and AI Engineering teams, products, and solutions
• Knowledge about Cloud Data Architectures & AI Technology
• Experience with developing Data Products
• Experience with leading agile teams using Kanban / Scrum
