Job Description
The ACLU is seeking a Paralegal for its National Security Project in New York. This role supports the legal project's litigation and administrative tasks. The Paralegal will report to the Deputy Project Director and will be part of a collective bargaining unit represented by Local 2110 of the United Auto Workers Union. This is a hybrid role requiring two days per week or eight days per month in the office.

Role Involves:
  • Providing litigation, administrative, and research support to attorneys.
  • Preparing and formatting legal documents.
  • Managing litigation calendars and files.
  • Reviewing and organizing documents related to Freedom of Information Act requests and discovery.
  • Drafting and editing affidavits and other legal documents.
  • Handling administrative duties such as processing invoices and scheduling meetings.

Requirements:
  • Strong administrative, organizational, and time-management skills.
  • Solid proofreading, research, and writing skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to work independently and within a team.
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience (preferred).
  • One year of paralegal or relevant litigation support experience (preferred).
