Job Description

Monzo is seeking a Payments Operations Specialist to join their Payment Operations team in London. The successful candidate will help build an amazing operational function, continuously improve processes, and work with the payments engineering team to develop innovative, technology-led solutions. This role involves managing critical payments processes that keep Monzo running smoothly across the globe.

Responsibilities include:

  • Managing cash in corporate accounts and processing high-value business payments.
  • Managing and executing daily Treasury payments.
  • Managing and executing payment processes to ensure flawless customer payments.
  • Managing physical cheque operations.
  • Handling escalations and queries from the Customer Operations team.
  • Maintaining and creating procedural documentation.
  • Seeking efficiency improvements and working with Analysts and Engineers to implement them.
  • Carrying out checks to ensure account reconciliation and resolving discrepancies.
  • Supporting the Payments and Finance team with ad-hoc requests and projects.
  • Building and maintaining relationships with third-party vendors.

Requirements:

  • Understanding of Payments Operations in a similar environment.
  • Experience in creating and improving processes (within Finance, Accounting, or similar environments).
  • Ability to own a project end-to-end.
  • Adaptability to new systems.
  • High attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
  • Keen eye for process improvements.
  • Team player with a collaborative approach.
  • Ability to thrive in a dynamic environment.
  • Self-starter and hands-on approach.
