Remote is seeking a VAT Analyst to join their VAT Team on a 12-month fixed-term contract. The VAT Team is responsible for Remote’s VAT matters worldwide. Preparing and submitting VAT Returns and other connected reports in several jurisdictions (EMEA/APAC).
Working with tax advisors to prepare and submit reports connected with Remote VAT obligations.
Reconciling VAT accounts and analyse discrepancies to ensure accuracy of the ERP data.
Liaising with accounts payable, accounts receivable and accounting team in order to review individual transactions and make any necessary corrections.
Analysing invoices to ensure compliance with local tax law and proper tax treatment and request corrections if necessary.
Managing and ensuring compliance with e-invoicing regulations across multiple EMEA/APAC jurisdictions.
Assisting in VAT registrations and de-registrations.
Supporting the team in VAT audits.
Supporting on ad hoc research and projects as needed, including expansion into new countries and VAT treatment of new operations.
Monitoring legislative changes in VAT laws and assess their impact on the business.
Identifying and implementing process improvements to enhance VAT reporting efficiency.
Performing VAT number checks to ensure compliance with VAT regulations.
Regularly reviewing and updating VAT records, ensuring accuracy for invoicing and reporting.
Working together with the tax technology team to ensure the used source data is accurate.
Requirements:
Experience working in a Tax department (big 4 environment focused in tax and reporting), namely in preparing and filing tax returns
SAP experience (not mandatory)
Hold a bachelor’s or master degree in Tax, Accounting, Finance, Management or similar - to be a chartered accountant (ACA, ACCA, CTA, CPA or similar) will be highly valued
