Job Description
Nexxen is seeking a self-directed and analytical Senior Data Scientist to join their team in New York City. This role focuses on the core optimization and bidding logic of the Nexxen Demand-Side Platform (DSP). The ideal candidate will work on challenges involving machine learning, large-scale data processing, and ad delivery performance, directly impacting bidding and optimization strategies across real-time programmatic advertising exchanges. The team follows a hybrid schedule, requiring three days a week in the office and the flexibility to work remotely for the remainder.
What this role involves:
- Designing, implementing, and evaluating machine learning models for bidding, pacing, and KPI prediction.
- Analyzing large-scale behavioral and performance data using Spark, SQL, and Python.
- Navigating and improving existing systems within complex, legacy codebases.
- Collaborating with product managers, engineers, and other data scientists to define problems and deliver end-to-end solutions.
- Writing clear technical documentation and communicating insights to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Requirements:
- Master's degree in a quantitative field.
- 2+ years of experience in data science or applied machine learning.
- Proficiency in applied machine learning techniques, especially tree-based models like XGBoost.
- Comfort navigating large, complex legacy codebases.
- Strong programming skills in Python and SQL.
- Experience with Scala/Apache Spark for distributed data processing and machine learning at scale.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Self-directed and able to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
