Job Description
Whatnot is seeking a Manager of Business Development to build strong commercial relationships with its major strategic partners. Reporting to the Head of Business Development, the Manager will negotiate and manage critical relationships with shipping and logistics companies, payment providers, tech platforms, and global brands.
Role involves:
- Managing alliances with strategic partners by defining joint roadmaps.
- Driving execution against those roadmaps.
- Delivering commercial advantage and maintaining strong partner relations.
- Building strong working relationships with cross-functional teams across Whatnot.
- Supporting corporate development opportunities through research and due diligence.
- Advising internal teams on structuring deals as Whatnot scales categories and offerings.
- Executing in an intense, fast-paced, and highly iterative environment.
Requirements:
- 6+ years of experience in business development at hypergrowth e-commerce and/or consumer technology companies.
- Proven track record in defining and executing a rigorous and goals focused strategy.
- Demonstrated experience thinking strategically about issues, leading to data-driven recommendations and action plans.
- Deep knowledge of the technology and ecommerce ecosystem across the US.
- Exceptional collaboration and relationship-building skills.
- Excellent project management skills.
- Proactive, self-starter with a high competency for data.
- Ability to think strategically and execute methodically.
