Senior Software Engineer - Mobile (React Native)

Job Description

BitGo is seeking a Senior Software Engineer specializing in React Native to join their team in Toronto. This role involves full-time onsite work to foster team collaboration and innovative problem-solving. The Senior Software Engineer will be responsible for designing and building advanced applications for iOS and Android platforms using React Native. They will collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and ship new features, ensuring the performance, quality, and responsiveness of applications.Responsibilities include writing clean, maintainable, and efficient code, identifying and correcting bottlenecks, and participating in code reviews. The engineer will also work closely with product managers, designers, and other engineers to refine product requirements and provide mentorship to peers.

• Design and build advanced applications for iOS and Android using React Native
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and ship new features
• Write clean, maintainable, and efficient code
• Ensure application performance, quality, and responsiveness
• Identify and correct bottlenecks and fix bugs
• Evaluate and implement new technologies
• Participate in code reviews
• Refine product requirements with product managers and designers
• Provide mentorship to peers

Requirements:

• At least 6 years of mobile application development experience with React Native
• Strong knowledge of JavaScript and related technologies (ES6, TypeScript)
• Solid understanding of the mobile development life cycle
• Knowledge of UI/UX standards and mobile design principles
• Experience with SQL databases (MySQL or Postgres)
• Proficiency with RESTful API design
• Experience with unit and functional testing and debugging
• Experience in Git/GitHub, branching methodologies, code review tools, and CI tools
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, applied mathematics, or a related field
• Understanding of and interest in cryptocurrencies and blockchain
• Strong skills in algorithm design, problem-solving, and complexity analysis
• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment
