Principal Sales Engineer

Intercom, an AI Customer Service company, is seeking a Principal Sales Engineer to join their Customer Solutions Team. This role involves engaging with customers, defining and demonstrating value, and driving customer success throughout the sales cycle. The ideal candidate will possess natural curiosity, independent thinking, and strong problem-solving skills, collaborating with Product, Data Science, and Engineering teams to meet customer needs.

What this role involves:

• Leading technical discovery to identify and address customer needs.
• Delivering exceptional pre-sales experiences by articulating Intercom's value.
• Conducting impactful solution reviews and in-depth technical sessions.
• Designing and leading tailored Proof of Concepts (POCs).
• Serving as the primary resource for RFPs and customer security questions.
• Collaborating cross-functionally with Product and Engineering.
• Building trust with customers and ensuring lasting value.
• Continuously improving processes and contributing to building a best-in-class Sales Engineering playbook.

Requirements:

• Minimum of 7 years of experience in a technical pre-sales role.
• Strong technical acumen and experience in conducting technical discovery.
• Ability to solve problems independently and thrive in collaborative environments.
• Understanding of AI-driven automation, LLMs, and customer support technologies.
• Proven time management skills.
• Ability to translate complex business challenges into Intercom solutions.
• Experience working with product and engineering teams.
• Familiarity with managing POCs, RFPs, and addressing architectural and security questions.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Willingness to travel occasionally.
