HomeLight is seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Title Examiner to join their team in Dallas, TX. The Title Examiner will play a crucial role in the day-to-day operations of a fast-paced, high-volume residential escrow and title insurance agency. The ideal candidate will have national experience reviewing titles for purchase transactions involving residential real estate, ensuring clients have clear, insurable titles and a smooth closing process.
Responsibilities: - Examine and verify residential property titles for purchase transactions across multiple states.
- Conduct title searches using public and private real estate records.
- Summarize legal and insurance documents.
- Analyze and evaluate title-related records nationwide.
- Prepare clear and accurate title commitments and property reports.
- Analyze chain of title and prepare documentation outlining findings.
- Review and interpret title reports from outside abstractors.
- Examine residential lot and block descriptions.
- Use title plant software and tools effectively.
- Collaborate with escrow officers, underwriters, and other stakeholders.
Requirements: - 5+ years of title examination experience.
- Strong working knowledge of legal terms and documents related to title and escrow.
- Ability to read and decipher legal descriptions.
- High attention to detail and accuracy.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and customer service orientation.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and title production systems.
