Job Description

PlayStation is seeking an Associate Trading Manager to join their team in London. This role focuses on retention within the subscriptions business. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills, problem-solving abilities, and a solid commercial understanding, with expertise in subscriptions and factors influencing retention outcomes.

The Associate Trading Manager will be responsible for maintaining and improving methodologies for accurate short-term performance prediction, conducting ad hoc commercial analysis, and identifying trends and opportunities to guide retention strategy. They will collaborate with commercial colleagues, planning and insights teams, and the commercial retention lead within the PlayStation Services team.

The Trading team, a subset of the Subscriptions Growth directorate, leads in-month performance reporting, providing weekly updates with outlook projections and coherent narratives on factors affecting PlayStation Plus growth. The primary goal is to keep the wider Services team and senior leadership informed of the latest performance trends, driving dynamic decision-making to achieve growth and revenue targets.

What this role involves:

  • Supporting delivery of weekly & monthly trading and performance updates for PlayStation Plus
  • Devising innovative solutions for in-month forecasting
  • Interrogating performance to identify risks and opportunities
  • Undertaking reactive analysis to understand deviations from the forecast
  • Analysing the commercial impacts of existing initiatives on an ad hoc basis.
  • Recommending actions

Requirements:

  • 3+ years (or equivalent) proven experience working in a subscription-based analytical or commercial role, with a strong track record of driving insights or business growth
  • Commercially minded, with a solid grasp of business performance metrics and high proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other analytical tools
  • Collaborative team player, comfortable working cross-functionally with a wide range of partners across PlayStation
  • Excellent communicator, capable of presenting complex ideas clearly and confidently to both technical and non-technical audiences
