Job Description
Geneva Trading, a global principal trading firm established in 1999, is seeking a Junior Trader to join their systematic trading team in Chicago. The firm prides itself on its commitment to trading excellence and technological innovation, supported by a collaborative and entrepreneurial culture.
The Junior Trader will support the trading desk by monitoring proprietary trading models, responding to market activity, and managing global risk. They will also partner with Senior Traders on data-driven projects, analyze trading performance, and collaborate with the technology team to improve low-latency trading systems.
Responsibilities include:
- Supporting the trading desk by monitoring proprietary trading models.
- Responding quickly to market activity.
- Managing global risk for the trading portfolio.
- Partnering with Senior Traders on data-driven projects.
- Analyzing trading performance and new market opportunities.
- Monitoring and troubleshooting proprietary software and trading infrastructure.
- Collaborating with the technology team to improve trading systems.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in STEM or a related field.
- Prior experience at a trading firm, hedge fund, or other financial technology firm preferred.
- Advanced knowledge of derivatives products and financial markets is highly preferred.
- Experience writing and implementing statistical ideas in Python or R highly preferred.
- Demonstrated success in competitive environments.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proven ability to work well in a collaborative, team-oriented environment.
