Senior Billing Specialist

Job Description

Motive is seeking a Senior Billing Specialist to be the primary contact for billing inquiries. The Senior Billing Specialist will be responsible for billing and processing charges, researching outstanding billing items, generating invoices, preparing itemized invoices, and reviewing and validating refunds. The ideal candidate will collaborate with internal departments to ensure timely case resolution and assist the sales team with operational tasks.

Motive is looking for someone with strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and a thorough understanding of the Quote-to-Cash process.

Responsibilities include:

• Overseeing billing status and resolving inconsistencies.
• Analyzing billing documents for accuracy.
• Creating and customizing invoices.
• Reviewing and validating credits and refunds.
• Evaluating and improving the billing process.
• Ensuring proper cutoff periods for month-end closing.
• Serving as the primary point of contact for billing support.
• Providing accurate and timely reports.
• Supporting vendor operations.
• Assisting with enterprise billing issues.
• Generating reports based on needs.
• Collaborating with functional teams for data quality.
• Working with spreadsheets, internet applications, and ERP systems.
• Maintaining data integrity in electronic systems.

Requirements:

• 1-2 years of experience in billing or a related role.
• Independent self-starter who can adapt to a fast-paced and changing environment.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• High attention to detail.
• Ability to work well in ambiguous situations, solve problems, and think on your feet.
• Proficient in Excel and Google Sheets.
• Comprehensive knowledge of Zuora is a plus.
• Expertise in Salesforce.com is a plus.
• A Bachelor's degree (BA/BS) in accounting or finance is preferred.
