Job Description
IPG is seeking a Manager of Collections & Cash Applications to manage the workflow, employees, and daily operations of the Collections and Cash Application departments. The role requires intricate research, follow-up, and coordination with various departments and external sources, maintaining high customer service and meeting expectations.
The role involves:
- Managing the timely and accurate daily application of an estimated $10 billion of annual cash receipts.
- Managing and developing a team of 15 Collections and Cash Application employees.
- Ensuring proper coding for payment application.
- Providing back-up support for collections and cash application staff.
- Coordinating documentation for SOX compliance and annual audits.
- Conducting special research projects related to collections or cash receipts.
- Validating exemption and reserve requests.
- Researching netting and I/C payment errors.
- Monitoring metrics and adjusting staffing.
- Conducting monthly calls with agency finance directors or CFOs.
Requirements:
- High school diploma required, Bachelor’s Degree in Finance or Accounting preferred.
- Five to seven years’ experience as a supervisor/manager.
- Five to seven years’ experience with credit management and cash applications.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and analytical mindset.
- Above average Word and advanced Excel knowledge.
- Strong written and oral communication skills.
- Detail oriented.
- Ability to work onsite with limited remote options.
