Clear Street is seeking a Director of Global Tax Operations to lead a team responsible for managing global tax information reporting and withholding obligations. This role is crucial for regulatory compliance, data integrity, and risk mitigation, requiring close partnership with Legal, Compliance, Operations, and Technology teams.Clear Street is modernizing the brokerage ecosystem with a cloud-native clearing and custody system designed for today’s complex, global market. The company's proprietary prime brokerage platform adds significant efficiency while minimizing risk and cost for clients.The role involves:

• Overseeing U.S. tax withholding requirements under Chapter 3, 871(m), and 1446(f).
• Managing global information reporting responsibilities across Clear Street entities.
• Ensuring timely and accurate filing of information returns (1099, 1042-S, etc.).
• Governing tax documentation (W-8/W-9) validation and withholding application.
• Managing the operational impact of tax regulations across multiple product types.
• Supporting internal audits and regulatory reviews.
• Enhancing tax processing systems through business requirements and strategic projects.
• Representing Asset Servicing in firm-wide tax governance initiatives.
• Leading and mentoring a team of tax operations professionals.

Requirements include:

• Minimum of 10 years of experience in tax operations or tax compliance.
• In-depth knowledge of IRS regulations under Chapter 3, 4 (FATCA), 61, 871(m), and 1446(f).
• Experience working within a broker-dealer, custodian, or financial institution.
• Detail and control-oriented mindset.
• Proven leadership and managerial experience.
• Familiarity with IRS reporting systems and tax documentation platforms.
• Strong project management and communication skills.
• Series 99 and/or Series 7 preferred.
