Job Description

Critical Mass is seeking a Copy Editor to ensure the overall quality of creative content produced for its clients. The Copy Editor will be responsible for maintaining a thorough knowledge of brand guidelines and ensuring that all creative materials are copy-accurate, content-accurate, and adhere to brand standards. This role requires strong attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.

The role involves:

  • Maintaining a thorough knowledge and understanding of brand guidelines.
  • Ensuring optimal quality of all communications developed for assigned clients, including grammar, spelling, consistency, and content accuracy.
  • Communicating with project managers to manage time effectively.
  • Partnering with writers to ensure the creative vision is achieved.
  • Actively soliciting additional information from writers or the client team to ensure content/copy accuracy.
  • Researching and validating content accuracy.

Requirements:

  • 1-2 years of copyediting experience.
  • Content editing experience is a plus.
  • Knowledge of grammatical standards/styles.
  • Proficiency in MS Office.
  • Ability to make good judgment calls.
  • Ability to work in a team environment.
  • Strong problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work with little to no supervision and direction.
