Rocket Lab is seeking a Lead Composite Technician to lead the build and assembly of composite components for the Neutron Launch Vehicle structure. This role involves hands-on work and leadership responsibilities, including setting job assignments, mentoring the team, and driving daily progress.Rocket Lab is a global leader in launch and space systems, responsible for the Electron rocket and the upcoming Neutron rocket. The company's space systems business supports numerous missions, including the James Webb Space Telescope and the Mars Ingenuity helicopter.
Responsibilities: - Lead a team of composite technicians.
- Coordinate build activities and track progress.
- Drive improvement projects and provide work instruction feedback.
- Manage team training and ensure conformance to health and safety policies.
- Assemble structures, laminate assemblies, and prepare parts for processing.
- Perform vacuum bagging, bonding, and oven/autoclave curing.
- Fit honeycomb, foam, and syntactic core.
- Integrate mechanical hardware.
Requirements: - 12+ years of experience in mechanical troubleshooting, assembly, installation, or repair.
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Familiarity with hand, power, pneumatic, and inspection tools.
- Experience leading a team in a production environment.
