The Member of Technical Staff role involves designing and building search tools and recommendation systems to enhance the platform's capabilities. The role requires collaboration with product, AI, and infrastructure teams to align system capabilities with business goals.

What this role involves:

• Designing and building search tools using technologies like Elasticsearch.
• Developing recommendation systems based on user behavior and preferences.
• Building and maintaining APIs and connectors for seamless integration.
• Optimizing data indexing, query performance, and relevance ranking.
• Architecting and implementing distributed systems for large-scale environments.
• Collaborating with cross-functional teams to align system capabilities with business goals.
• Leading the development of scalable and low-latency search and recommendation systems using OpenSearch and vector search.
• Leading ML and GenAI integrations into production.
• Driving agent platform capabilities.
• Overseeing fine-tuning pipelines and model evaluation infrastructure.
• Establishing technical direction, mentoring engineers, and building frameworks that scale with multi-tenant workloads.

Requirements:

• 4+ years in backend, search, or ML infrastructure; deep experience with OpenSearch/Elasticsearch and distributed systems.
• Strong programming in Go, Python, or Java; expertise in data pipelines, vector stores, and model-serving frameworks.
• Familiarity with retrieval-augmented generation, LLM-based workflows, or agent systems is highly valued.
• Proven experience building high-scale systems and driving technical leadership across teams.
