The ACLU is seeking a Design Director to join their Communications & Marketing Department. This role is based in New York and operates on a hybrid schedule, requiring in-office presence two days a week. The Design Director will spearhead the creative vision and execution of design projects, transforming campaign strategies into impactful visuals that promote the ACLU’s mission. They will lead a team of designers, ensuring high-quality, on-brand work through effective workflows and resource allocation. This position offers an opportunity to mentor and inspire a creative team, fostering a collaborative and growth-oriented environment.Role involves:
  • Developing and overseeing the look & feel for all design projects.
  • Leading, mentoring, and inspiring a team of designers.
  • Overseeing the entire design process from concept to execution.
  • Partnering with teams across various departments to develop design solutions.
Requirements:
  • Significant design expertise with leadership experience.
  • A strong portfolio showcasing impactful design work.
  • Proven experience managing and mentoring designers.
  • Expertise in Adobe Creative Suite.
  • Strong project management and communication skills.
