The ACLU is seeking a Legal Fellow to join the Reproductive Freedom Project. This fellowship is designed for rising third-year law students and recent law graduates. The Fellow will work under the supervision of the Deputy Project Director and will be involved in various aspects of litigation and advocacy related to reproductive rights and justice.

The ACLU's Reproductive Freedom Project envisions a world that respects and supports each of us in making deeply personal decisions. The ACLU has been a leader in the efforts to ensure that every person has access to affordable and stigma-free abortion care.

What this role involves:

  • Conducting legal research and analysis
  • Drafting legal documents
  • Working with clients and witnesses
  • Engaging with litigation teams
  • Drafting public education materials
  • Supporting ACLU affiliates
  • Helping manage the summer legal internship program
  • Engaging in public speaking

What candidate should bring:

  • J.D. or expected J.D. by spring 2026
  • Commitment to public interest law and reproductive rights
  • Excellent research, writing, and communication skills
  • Ability to conduct complex legal analysis
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Self-motivation and ability to manage tasks
