Software Engineer II, Backend (Identity Decisioning)

Job Description

Affirm is seeking a Software Engineer II to join their Identity Engineering team. This role focuses on building and maintaining high-availability, low-latency backend systems for consumer onboarding, authentication, and verification. The engineer will collaborate with product management, design, and analytics teams to deliver solutions that align with business needs.Responsibilities:

• Break down projects into tasks and deliver them in phases.
• Collaborate with product management, design, and analytics teams.
• Create and monitor metrics for team's artifacts.
• Participate in growth and development activities.

Requirements:

• 1.5+ years of experience as a software engineer.
• Experience designing, developing, and launching backend systems.
• Proficiency in Python or Kotlin.
• Familiarity with distributed systems, AWS, MySQL, and Kubernetes.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent practical experience.
