ML Operations Engineer II (Viator)

Job Description

Viator, a Tripadvisor company, is seeking a ML Operations Engineer II to join their team and support the company's growth. This is a hybrid position based in London or Oxford. The ideal candidate will play a pivotal role in a dynamic team, with the opportunity to learn many cutting edge technologies around Machine Learning Platform, as also push the boundaries, to test, develop and implement new ideas, technology and opportunities.

Responsibilities:

• Empowering Data Science and ML teams by providing tools and infrastructure.
• Supporting tech stack evolution by developing across the existing technology stack and contributing to the migration into the AWS cloud.
• Building and maintaining a robust and scalable infrastructure to support pre-computed, batch, and real-time model needs.
• Fostering a culture of innovation by generating and promoting new ideas within the ML Ops domain.
• Finding creative solutions to complex problems.
• Touching code at every level – from the UI, backend microservices, database, big data processing, operations, to CD/CI automation.

Requirements:

• 2+ years of ML engineering experience, focused on building modern ML infrastructure catering all stages of a model lifecycle.
• Hands-on experience with AWS.
• Good grasp of IaC (Infrastructure-as-code) tools like Terraform and CloudFormation.
• Previous exposure to technologies like Python, Spark, Docker, Kubernetes is desirable.
• Ability to develop across a diverse technology stack and willingness to take on new technologies.
• Demonstrated experience participating on cross functional teams in fast-paced environments.
• Excellent ability to break down complex problems into simple solutions.
• Experience with CI/CD processes and platforms.
• Sense of ownership, urgency, and pride in your work.
• High quality verbal and written communication skills.
