Job Description
ABBYY is seeking a Principal DevOps and Cloud Deployment Engineer to lead the build, deployment, and support of ABBYY Vantage in on-prem environments. This role requires a combination of infrastructure, automation, and cloud deployment skills to ensure a reliable, secure, and manageable system for enterprise customers. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical judgment, communication skills, and a problem-solving mindset to shape customer deployments and operations.
Responsibilities:
- Design and improve ABBYY Vantage deployment and management in on-prem environments.
- Build tools and scripts to automate installations, upgrades, and maintenance.
- Solve complex problems across the stack, from debugging service failures to resolving network issues.
- Partner with engineers and product teams to reduce complexity and improve deployment predictability.
- Implement logging, monitoring, and diagnostics for easier system operation and support.
- Guide infrastructure decisions, tool selection, and DevOps practices.
- Support the growth of others through knowledge sharing and mentorship.
Requirements:
- 10+ years in DevOps, SRE, or infrastructure roles, including senior or lead positions.
- Strong Linux background and experience managing large-scale systems.
- Experience automating deployments and operational tasks.
- Strong skills in debugging distributed systems and understanding infrastructure failures.
- Hands-on experience with on-prem enterprise software delivery and support.
- Proficiency in scripting (Bash, Python, PowerShell, etc.).
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
- Experience with Kubernetes, Helm, and container-based systems.
- Exposure to cloud platforms like AWS or Azure.
- Experience with packaging and delivery systems (MSI, RPM, Docker images).
- Familiarity with Terraform, Pulumi, or similar infrastructure-as-code tools.
