Job Description
Xometry is seeking a Staff Data Engineer to lead the design and evolution of their data infrastructure. This role involves architecting scalable, high-performance systems for analyzing site traffic, telemetry, search performance, and advertising effectiveness. The Staff Data Engineer will collaborate with software engineers and data scientists to build production-grade analytic data products and mentor other data engineers.
What this role involves:
- Designing and implementing end-to-end data architecture for real-time and streaming pipelines.
- Capturing and processing website telemetry data using tools like Segment.
- Optimizing compute performance and cost in Snowflake.
- Leveraging technologies like ClickHouse for efficient storage and querying.
- Building and managing orchestration workflows with Airflow.
- Designing data models to support search algorithm performance analysis.
- Working with software engineers and stakeholders to define data product requirements.
- Mentoring junior and mid-level data engineers.
Requirements:
- 10+ years of experience in data engineering and architecture.
- Hands-on experience with streaming data technologies.
- Proficient with Airflow.
- Knowledge of Snowflake and ClickHouse.
- Familiarity with customer data platforms for telemetry data capture (Segment preferred).
- Knowledge of GraphQL APIs.
- Solid understanding of AWS services.
- Strong skills in SQL, Python and dbt; experience with Spark or Scala, a plus.
