Job Description
Groupon is seeking a Senior Accountant to join their SG&A team in Warsaw. This role offers the opportunity to take ownership of core accounting processes and expand expertise across borders, currencies, and reporting frameworks. The Senior Accountant will report to the Accounting Manager and collaborate with a team of accounting professionals. This position requires the candidate to be in the office 2 days a week.
Role involves:
- Driving the month-end close process, including journal entries, reconciliations, and analysis.
- Owning P&L and balance sheet reporting, rollforwards, and fluctuation reviews.
- Partnering daily with Finance, Tax, Legal, HR, Payroll, and Engineering teams.
- Responding to internal and external audits and supporting statutory reporting.
- Leading special projects and contributing to process improvement and automation.
- Mentoring junior staff and helping maintain a strong SOX-compliant control environment.
Requirements:
- 5+ years of experience in corporate accounting.
- Strong GAAP knowledge and financial analysis skills.
- Advanced Excel skills.
- A proactive, detail-oriented mindset.
- Solid communication and cross-team collaboration skills.
- Fluent English (B2+), international accounting exposure is a plus.
