Senior AI Engineer – Deal Intelligence (Merchant Advisor Team)

Job Description

Groupon is seeking a Senior AI Engineer to join their AI Team (Merchant Advisor) in Poland. This role focuses on transforming how merchant deals are created, personalized, and optimized using machine learning, NLP, and intelligent automation. The engineer will work on high-impact systems that influence revenue, marketplace health, and merchant satisfaction.Responsibilities:

• Designing models to classify and score deals.
• Engineering features to personalize deal suggestions.
• Building adaptive systems to balance exploration vs. exploitation in deal structures.
• Discovering latent failure patterns using unsupervised learning.
• Collaborating with product managers, analysts, and market managers.
• Creating modular, explainable systems that evolve with feedback.

Requirements:

• 4+ years experience in ML/AI roles.
• Strong grounding in Python, SQL, and ML libraries.
• Experience with modern NLP techniques.
• Practical understanding of reinforcement learning or online experimentation.
• Experience with data exploration and delivering models into production.
• Bias toward clarity, iteration, and outcome-focused thinking.
