Job Description
Anthropic is seeking a Manager for its Startups Applied AI team. This role involves working with fast-growing AI-focused startups to drive the adoption of frontier AI by developing bespoke LLM solutions. The manager will leverage technical skills and consultative sales experience to architect innovative solutions that address customer business needs, meet technical requirements, and provide a high degree of reliability and safety.
Responsibilities:
- Manage and mentor a team of Applied AI Product Engineers and other technical GTM resources supporting Startups.
- Partner closely with GTM leadership to understand customer requirements & build GTM strategies.
- Set goals and reviews for the team, promoting growth and output.
- Provide technical guidance on integration, deployment, and adoption best practices.
- Lead and support the team in complex evaluations and problem-solving.
- Drive collaboration from cross-functional teams to influence stakeholders.
- Travel occasionally to customer sites and industry events.
- Establish a shared vision for creating solutions that enable beneficial and safe AI.
- Lead the vision, strategy, and execution of innovative solutions.
Requirements:
- 7+ years of experience as a Forward Deployed Engineer, Customer Engineer, Sales Engineer, or Solutions Architect.
- 3+ years of customer-oriented engineering management experience.
- Experience building and operating AI-native products.
- Experience working with AI-native startups.
- Organizational mindset and enjoys building teams in an unstructured environment.
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and coaching abilities.
- Comfortable dealing with uncertain, ambiguous, and fast-moving environments.
- Strong executive presence and ability to foster deep relationships with customers.
- Familiarity with the architecture and operation of large language models and/or ML in general.
- Passion for making powerful technology safe and societally beneficial.
