In The Pocket, a leading European Digital Product Studio, is seeking a Data Engineer for a temporary freelance position. The Data Engineer will help build the foundation of the company's intelligence capability, enabling teams to access reliable data for better decision-making.

The Data Engineer will work with modern tools and platforms to create robust, scalable data pipelines and models using Google Cloud and Google BigQuery. He will partner with various stakeholders to turn data into actionable insights.

Role involves:

  • Designing, developing, and maintaining data warehouse architecture in Google BigQuery.
  • Implementing and optimizing data pipelines for efficient data ingestion, transformation, and loading (ETL/ELT).
  • Utilizing various GCP services to build and maintain data infrastructure.
  • Designing and implementing efficient data models for analytical and reporting purposes.
  • Collaborating with data analysts, data scientists, and business stakeholders to understand data requirements.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
  • Proven experience as a Data Engineer, with a focus on data warehousing and ETL/ELT.
  • Strong proficiency in Google BigQuery, GCP services, SQL and data modeling.
  • Experience with scripting languages (e.g. Python, TypeScript, …).
  • Understanding of data warehousing concepts and best practices.
  • Experience with version control systems like Git.
  • Experience with Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) tools (e.g., Terraform).
  • Experience with data orchestration tools (e.g. Apache Airflow, Cloud Composer).
  • Experience with stream processing (e.g. Dataflow, Pub/Sub).
  • Experience with data visualization tools (e.g. Looker Studio, Tableau).
  • Knowledge of data governance and security best practices.
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines.
  • Google Cloud Professional Data Engineer certification.
