Job Description

Lightspeed is seeking a Senior iOS Developer to join its Montreal office and contribute to the Hospitality product group. The successful candidate will be instrumental in expanding Lightspeed's reach into new markets and enhancing its advanced hospitality commerce platform. Specifically, the role involves joining a team focused on building an advanced, modular users and permissions framework to empower multi-location merchants.

The Senior iOS Developer will collaborate with top industry talent to enhance the iOS app by developing innovative features and user-centric workflows. They will design and implement aesthetically pleasing, efficient, and functional mobile applications tailored for iOS devices using Swift and Objective-C.

The role involves prioritizing daily activities between the development of new features and the maintenance of existing integrations, with a strong focus on expanding Lightspeed's presence in new markets through novel iOS capabilities. The Senior iOS Developer will report to the Team Lead and maintain active engagement with Product Managers, UI/UX Designers, and cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration and performance within the POS.

What this role involves:

  • Collaborating with industry experts to enhance the iOS app.
  • Designing and implementing efficient mobile applications using Swift and Objective-C.
  • Prioritizing development of new features and maintenance of existing integrations.
  • Engaging in Agile ceremonies and creative brainstorming sessions.
  • Championing high standards in code quality and system reliability.

Requirements:

  • Advanced programming skills in Swift (and ideally Objective-C).
  • Good knowledge of Structured Concurrency, UIKit, SwiftUI, Core Data, REST APIs.
  • Experience in writing automated unit and functional tests.
  • Good conceptual understanding of software design and code beauty.
  • Experience with local network communication, external accessories (eg. payment terminals, printers) is a plus.
  • Team player with good communication skills.
  • Self-motivated and able to function effectively in a team environment.
  • Eager to make decisions and not afraid of making mistakes.
  • Keen on sharing knowledge and expertise with peers.
