Job Description

Scale AI is seeking a Human Frontier Collective (HFC) Coding Specialist to contribute to groundbreaking generative AI research. In this fully remote, 6-month contract role, the specialist will enhance and shape AI capabilities specifically designed to assist Swift developers. The HFC Coding Specialist will work within a team of domain experts, including advanced researchers, software engineers, and elite professionals across diverse fields.

The role involves leveraging expertise in Swift and AI-driven coding practices to influence the future of coding productivity and effectiveness through generative AI.

What this role involves:

  • Actively code and build Swift-based applications, utilizing large language models (LLMs) throughout the development process.
  • Collaborate with research teams to integrate and test LLM-generated code within real-world Swift applications.
  • Evaluate model performance by analyzing their ability to aid in Swift development.
  • Engage in targeted projects exploring key Swift programming areas such as UI design, application architecture, and data management.
  • Contribute to technical reports, participate in webinars and panels, and lead discussions on the transformative impact of AI in software development.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's or advanced degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related fields.
  • Extensive proficiency in Swift, including experience with Xcode, SwiftUI, UIKit, and software engineering best practices.
  • Practical familiarity using large language models (LLMs) like GitHub Copilot, ChatGPT, or similar AI-driven coding platforms.
  • Background as a Software Engineer, Swift Developer, iOS Developer, or similar roles with demonstrable Swift project contributions.
