Job Description
The Global Energy Alliance for People and Planet (GEAPP) is seeking a Director of Evaluation to support rigorous assessments of energy programs across developing regions. This role involves designing and implementing evaluations using primary and secondary data sources, estimating the impact of energy interventions on outcomes such as jobs, livelihoods, and household welfare. The Director will provide cross-cutting support to regional teams and the solutions delivery team, in coordination with regional MEL experts.Responsibilities:
  • Design and support impact evaluations and economic modeling of energy systems interventions.
  • Develop guidelines to utilize primary and secondary data to assess program outcomes.
  • Collaborate with regional teams and MEL experts to integrate quantitative insights.
  • Develop and apply econometric and statistical methods to identify causal impacts.
  • Support synthesis of findings into clear, actionable reports.
  • Engage in cross-regional learning to inform strategy and improve program design.
Requirements:
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in applied economics.
  • Proven expertise in designing and conducting quantitative evaluations.
  • Experience in economic modeling of energy access and transitions.
  • Familiarity with secondary data sources related to energy in developing countries.
  • Proficiency in econometric software (e.g., Stata, R, Python).
  • Strong collaboration skills and experience working in interdisciplinary teams.
  • Excellent analytical writing and communication skills.
  • Advanced degree (Ph.D. or Master’s) in economics, energy economics, or a related field.
