Software Engineering Manager

Job Description

SpotOn is seeking an Engineering Manager to lead its Business Owner group, focused on building world-class restaurant reporting systems. The Engineering Manager will provide oversight and leadership on technical direction, collaborate with others, and lead with empathy. The role involves driving teams to optimal output, cultivating a strong team culture, and ensuring the growth of each team member. • Keeping teams focused and engaged on the mission
• Maintaining a rapid release cadence and informative/useful product backlog
• Upholding a standard of timely and lossless communication
• Building the trust of individual contributors
• Working with leaders across Product, Engineering, Operations
• Driving adoption of new technologies and processes
• Preserving engineering values of quality, scalability, and maintainability
• Identifying blind spots and prioritizing work across teams
• Working with international teams
• Owning the overall architecture and systems engineering

• Exceptional communication and organizational skills
• Experience recruiting and building software engineering teams
• Ability to inspire and motivate team members
• Strong technical background in software engineering and architecture
• Experience with modern programming languages and frameworks
• 8+ years of software development experience
• 2+ years of experience managing software teams
