Software Engineering Manager

Job Description

SpotOn is seeking an Engineering Manager to lead its Business Owner group, focused on building world-class restaurant reporting systems. The Engineering Manager will provide oversight and leadership on technical direction, collaborate with others, and lead with empathy. The role involves working directly with developers, doing people management, and influencing broader leadership decisions to guide the team toward company goals. SpotOn solves problems of scale in a rapidly changing environment to help small businesses compete and win.Responsibilities include:

• Keeping teams focused and engaged on the mission.
• Maintaining a rapid release cadence and informative product backlog.
• Building trust with individual contributors.
• Working with leaders across Product, Engineering, and Operations.
• Driving adoption of new technologies and processes.
• Identifying blind spots and prioritizing work across teams.
• Working with international teams.
• Owning the overall architecture and systems engineering for products.

Qualifications include:

• Exceptional communication and organizational skills.
• Experience recruiting for and building software engineering teams.
• The ability to inspire and motivate team members.
• A strong technical background in software engineering and architecture.
• 8+ years of software development experience.
• 2+ years of experience managing software teams.
