Security Software Engineer: Detection Platform (Insider Risk)

Job Description

Anthropic is seeking a Security Software Engineer to join their Detection Platform Engineering team, focusing on Insider Risk tooling. The engineer will leverage existing systems to meet the Insider Risk team's needs, combining investigative skills with detection engineering expertise to proactively detect and respond to potential insider risk incidents.Role involves:

• Supporting detection engineering for insider risk.
• Developing and maintaining detection rules, alerting logic, and automation.
• Serving as an engineering resource for Insider Risk investigators.
• Translating business requirements into tooling.
• Developing and operationalizing insider threat indicators and mitigation strategies.
• Partnering with engineering, IT, and security teams to close visibility gaps.
• Designing, implementing, and overseeing data loss prevention (DLP) controls.
• Partnering with investigators on technical investigations.
• Generating high-quality investigative reports and briefings.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years in software engineering with a focus on security.
• Hands-on experience building or maintaining detection tooling and pipelines.
• Engineering experience with DLP, SIEM, EDR, NDR, and SOAR technologies.
• Strong ability to perform forensic analysis and correlate disparate data sources.
• Ability to convey complex security issues to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
