Job Description
Guidepost Montessori School at Mill Valley is seeking a Lead Children's House Guide to empower 3 to 6-year-olds. This role offers the opportunity to foster independence, self-confidence, and a love of learning in a Montessori environment. The Lead Guide will support a mixed-age class of preschool children, preparing an environment that fosters independence and captivates a child’s interest. They will provide personalized support, working with children individually and in small groups, demonstrating how to use materials, and giving precise language to understand their experiences.

Role Involves:
  • Observing each child to understand their needs.
  • Preparing an orderly environment for concentration and learning.
  • Cultivating independence and self-confidence.
  • Providing individual and small-group lessons.
  • Forming personal connections and cultivating a community of respect.
  • Communicating and collaborating with parents.

Ideal Candidate Has:
  • Obtained or is willing to obtain a Montessori diploma for 3-6.
  • Experience working with children ages 3-6 in a group setting.
  • Familiarity with child-led philosophies or open to learning more.
  • 12 Early Childhood Education (ECE) or Child Development credits.
  • Earned a Bachelor’s Degree (ECE or Child Development).
